Faculty of education for girls, an educational and scientific institution endeavors to develop teaching and educational cadres with a contemporary and civilized perspective whom have the ability to effectively contribute to create the educational and social changes which associate with the valuable system of the community, through the upbringing of new generations are able to contribute in building a unified, democratic Iraq on the scientific, civilized, and humanistic bases

The preparation of the teaching specialized and efficient staff that meet the needs of secondary schools to the Pure and humanistic Sciences, and to provide the educational and teaching consultations and to produce the studies and researches  which contribute in the improvement and development of the reality of education according to the academic standards of high scientific quality. 

• Preparation of specialists teachers to supply the secondary schools.
• To create those teachers scientifically, educationally, socially, and prepare them to be able to perform their profession as teachers educators.
• To instill scientific tendency among the graduating teachers with their dealings and treatment of the scientific and educational attitudes in a scientific, educational and civilized way.
• Arming students, teachers, with educational, scientific knowledge and enquiring them with effective teaching skills that enable them to perform the teaching profession.
• Building the scientific and educational character for the student teacher to be able to effect positive and educational interaction with his pupils.
• Instill values and virtues of social order to avoid wrong behaviors that do not serve education and accept private gifts and administrative corruption. 

The Faculty of Education for Girls had been established in 1987 and it is one of the seventh faculties by which the University of Kufa was founded on 23/12/1987. These faculties are (Principles , Medicine) after separate its connections with Al- Mustansiriya University and the faculties of law and engineering in the province of Babylon, and the faculties of education for girls and Arts in Najaf .In the academic year 1988 – 1989  , the Faculty of Education accepted the first batch of students in the following duties: (Arabic language, life sciences, chemistry, geography), and then the faculty began  to expand opening the Department of Mathematics at the age of 1989, followed by the Physics Department in 1991, then a branch of Education psychological.
The academic year 1996-1997 to incorporate the department of Science Quran and Islamic education, which was canceled in 1998 ,in the academic year 2001-2002 the faculty was included department of Physical Education, and then in 2002-2003 the faculty was opened the Department of Computer to become the number of science departments in the faculty nine sections.

In the academic year 2006 - 2007 has been accepted studies in the evening Sections Computers and Physical Education mixed for both sexes, and always be in the faculty of Arts and the Centre for Youth and Sport.
In the 2007-2008  it was turned a branch of Education and Psychology in to department to become the number of science departments in the faculty to ten sections.
The efforts were coorporated,to graduate the first batch in 1992 – 1993.Then, the faculty was continuing to graduate new batches for specialized cadres whom have bachelor degree to different specializes. the graduates contribute in the educational process in secondary school, and other educational institutions
